Frequently asked questions
How do I download a Pinterest video on my phone?
Open the video pin in the Pinterest app, tap Share and then Copy link. Open this page in Chrome or Safari, paste the link and tap the globe. Choose MP4 and tap Download. On Android the video goes to your Downloads folder; on iPhone it goes to the Files app, and from there you can save it to Photos.
Does it work with pin.it short links?
Yes. The Share button in the Pinterest app often gives a pin.it link. SnapVideoDL follows it to the real pin page and then loads the video.
Can I download Pinterest images with this tool?
This page is made for video pins. For a photo, open the pin in Pinterest, tap the three dots and choose “Download image” — that is faster and gives the full-size picture.
Why does a pin not load?
Usually because the pin is not a video, it has been deleted, or it sits on a secret board that only its owner can see. We can only read pins that are public.
Is there a limit?
The tool is free with no paid plans. To prevent abuse there is a fair limit on downloads per hour from one connection, which normal use never reaches.
Can I re-post videos I download?
Only if you have the right to. Many pins are other people's work. Keep downloads for your own offline use, and ask the creator before sharing or using a video elsewhere.
